F**ked Up Fairy Tales

Book and Lyrics by Grace Jasmine, Music by David Jayden Anthony

Love trumps hate in Fairy Tale Land

The Magic Bean bar in Fairy Tale Land has always been a haven for the dysfunctional characters who call it their home away from home. But when they come together to celebrate bar owners Jack and the Giant's engagement--all hell breaks loose! Evil King Midas' henchmen crash the party with new laws and vile threats. Will they fight the new regime? Can they save Fairy Tale Land? Only if they have an amazing plan and find a way to work together.

David and Jonelle serve as adjunct faculty at the college where they have written and directed several musicals. David currently serves as the Executive Director of Arts and Teachers for Encore Education Corporation, a network of performing arts charter schools where he oversees all live performance, staffing and training as well as curriculum development at multiple schools. For the Fringe Festival, David is writing with all new collaborators on F**ked Up Fairy Tales and Chaturbate: The Musical. He is so excited to return to NMI (Elise and Scott) and their valuable feedback that really helps writers refine and clarify their story!

David Epstein (Rumplestiltskin)

originally hails from Vancouver, Canada.  David feels very lucky that customs let him cross the border for his first show with NMI. He has been acting on stage for almost 15 years and holds a Theatre Degree from Queen’s University. Some of his favourite credits include Ponyboy in The Outsiders, Linus in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown and Isaac in GNU Ground’s premiere of Guess Who’s Coming to Sabbath. David graduated from New York Film Academy with his MFA in Film Acting where he learned the principles of performance, subtleties of acting and that he has a face for animation. You can hear him in Lionsgate’s upcoming 3D feature “The Son of Bigfoot” and in the new anime series “Lei Gong: Chronicles of the Sword”. You can also find him in the upcoming season of “Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce”. When he’s not stealing children as Rumpelstiltsken, David loves to snowboard, bike and show off his Bar Mitzvah party dance moves. He also shreds the uke in his band Goldilocks and The Two Beards.

Joey Hunt (Jiminy Cricket)

is excited to perform with this extremely talented cast. His favorite roles include Judas (Jesus Christ Superstar), Bobby Strong (Urinetown) and Burrs (The Wild Party). He spends most of his time with the greatest guy in the world, Hudson. And while only about two years old, he’s given Joey the best hands-on training and education he could have ever asked for. His wife, Allison, is an accomplished modern dancer, and the greatest living human on the planet.
