A girl wishes that her fiancé will come back from the army. He has been missing for over a year. In her desperation, she passionately prays to painting of the Virgin Mary on her wall. Apparently, some wishes are granted, just not in the exact way you would expect!

CREATIVE TEAM - BIOGRAPHIES


Morgan Aiken (Stage Manager) was born and raised in Los Angeles, California.  She graduated from St. Bernard High School in Playa Del Rey in 2006 on the Deans Honor Roll and earning the Alfano Award. At 20, after studying psychology at West Los Angeles Community College, Morgan joined the Army as a Military Police Officer.  There she served in several duty stations, such as Colorado, South Korea, and Iraq.  After 5 years, she earned an honorable discharge as a Corporal and used the GI Bill to attend the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles, CA earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2017.

Ron Barnett (Music Director) is a composer living in Los Angeles, CA where he is Director of Music and Sacred Arts at Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church, Glendale. Full length musicals, as composer: Around the World in 80 Days with book and lyrics by Julianne Homokay, A Christmas Carol with book by Barry Kornhauser, published in 2013 by Dramatic Publishing Company, Woodstock, IL and When Butter Churns to Gold, which premiered in 2015 at Northern Sky Theatre in Door County, WI. Choral music published by MorningStar, GIA, and Lorenz. He is currently a member of New Musicals Inc. in North Hollywood, and was, with lyricist Greg Edwards, a finalist for the 2010 and 2012 Fred Ebb Prize.  

Luke David Carlsen (Soldier) is a classically trained singer and actor. He is excited to work under director Joshua Finkel, who has been both a mentor and teacher for him. He is humbled to work with one of the finest orchestrators in Los Angeles, Stephen Coleman, on his newest work. Luke would like to thank his parents for all their encouragement and support. When he is not acting, Luke sings in his jazz band Luke Carlsen and Five Got Rhythm at Herb Alpert’s Vibrato Grill or E Spot Lounge.

Emily Cohn (Music Director) hails from the land of piano where she has had the privilege to work with many Broadway stars and notable directors. She’s very grateful for NMI where she grew her skills and learned from her colleagues during the productions of: NYSSV, Bagels, and Belle Barth.  Some of her other favorite works have been with the award winning Alien Vs Musical, world premier of We Are The Tigers,  Hairspray for the Celerity Gala at the Orpehum Theatre.,  Das Barbecu at The Barnstormers in New Hampshire. An accomplished and multi-faceted musician, Emily is trained in classical and jazz piano and was the featured pianist with the Hollywood Film Orchestra on their most recent China Tour in December. Stephen Coleman (Music) has been the lead orchestrator for over 100 Hollywood feature films. Films he has worked on include: Iron Man, Captain America 2 & 3, Big Hero 6, X-Men First Class, Kingsmen-Secret Service, 28 Weeks Later, Sideways, Sunshine, and many others including the HBO TV series Game of Thrones. Before moving to Los Angeles in 2001 he lived in London where he worked at Cameron Mackintosh, Ltd, and before that, he was assistant to Claude-Michel Schonberg (composer of Les Miserables and Miss Saigon). He went to school at Manhattan School of Music, in New York.

Jordan Darin Erickson (Corpse/Spirit) is a student actor attending California Lutheran University. He has recently performed in The Complete Works of William Shakespeare: Abridged,  Love and Information, and Hamlet the Disco Dane of Denmark as Hamlet at CLU. Jordan is excited to be in his first professional performance with NMI with such a talented cast and crew.

Joshua Finkel (Director) is a Broadway and Hollywood director, acting coach and actor.  Selected musical credits: Kiss of the Spider Woman (Molina, Broadway/London/Toronto/India/MTG.)   Regional and Tour: Les Miserables(Thenardier), Bark! (Ben, Original Cast/Recording), Little Shop of Horrors (Orin the Dentist), Beauty and the Beast (Lumiere at Cabrillo), Parade (Leo Frank, Panic! Productions), A Class Act (Ed Kleban, Alex Theatre.) Director/Choreographer: Violet (LA County Premiere Production El Portal Theater, Kelrik Productions, Scenie Award  Best Director), The Fantasticks and A Funny Thing…Forum (Panic! Productions),  The Spitfire Grill (Actors Co-op, Ovation Nomination), A Ring in Brooklyn (The Noho Arts Center, Scenie Award Best Choreography), Songs For A New World (San Francisco Premiere), Hollywood Revisited (ongoing Internationally) Falsettoland (Phoenix Theatre, SF), Into The Woods (Civic Arts Plaza, Thousand Oaks), Tsarina (The Grove Theater, Upland). This year marked Joshua’s NY Directing Debut taking the Cabaret Act he helped create and direct Together at Last to Feinstein’s 54 Below.  Acting Coach: Joshua runs the Actor Masterclass Series at NMI, teaches at California Lutheran University and at his own Creative Combustion Acting Studio for Actors and Public Speakers of all ages and levels. Fun Fact: Joshua was the Live Action Reference Model for Prince Eric in Disney’s The Little Mermaid.  Upcoming: Joshua’s Director Audition Panel Master Classes teams clients with the top Directors and Casting Directors in Los Angeles. Joshua is directing and starring in Hollywood Revisited at The Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills in August. In addition he will be directing The Wedding Night for the LA Fringe Festival, The Bully Project as part of the Stages Festival, and the feature film Money Doesn’t Care Who’s Got It. Keith Dale Gordon (Lyrics) is a New York based writer, composer, lyricist who writes musical theater, commercial jingles, award shows, and sales videos. He was a writer at the Johnny Mercer Writers Colony at Goodspeed, and Writer in Residence at The O’Neill Theater Center and at CAP 21. His theater work has been featured at The O’Neill National Musical Theater Conference, Santa Fe Musical Theatre Festival, Momentum Festival at the City Theatre of Pittsburgh, NYMF (Director’s Choice Award), the TRU Festival in NYC (Best of Festival), and Stages in Chicago. Keith has written Saint Heaven (music & lyrics), book by Martin Casella (Village Theatre, Seattle; Stamford Center for the Performing Arts Rich Forum). He has also written Sadako & Floyd (book, music, lyrics); Girl Powers (music & lyrics) book Michele Aldin Kushner; and The Shadow Sparrow (music), book Anton Dudley, lyrics Charlie Sohne. Keith is currently developing Mary Modern (music & lyrics) with book Martin Casella, based on the Camille DeAngelis novel. Jana Hejdukova (Book) is from the Czech Republic. She’s lived in Los Angeles for 15 years. She has a Master’s degree in English, music and psychology. She co-wrote a popular Czech grammar textbook to help out her poor Czech language students struggling to learn one of the most difficult languages in the world. Her voice can be heard on the soundtrack of Game of Thrones, however briefly. The Wedding Night marks her first, and hopefully not last,  musical theatre project.

Katie Hume (Girl) received her BFA in Musical Theater Performance from Western Michigan University. When she’s not singing, acting, or playing piano on stage, she operates Golden Afternoon Princess Parties, a children’s entertainment company here in Los Angeles. Past show highlights include The Fantasticks (Luisa, Panic Productions), The Wizard of Oz (Dorothy, Glendale Centre Theatre), Evita (Cabrillo Music Theatre), Ah, Wilderness! (Mildred Miller, A Noise Within Theatre). Randle Rankin (Father/Spirit) is a classically trained musician who fell in love with the theater. He has performed all over the world and loves the chance to travel and share his gift but he always loves the chance to perform in his home town. He is very excited to be a part of the Fringe Festival and help showcase new art. He is especially excited to see where this specific show goes next.

Cameron Lloyd Stone (Cello) cellist, began his studies with the Suzuki method of instruction in 1973 at the age of 3. At the age of 13, he was already playing concerts in America, Europe, and Asia, and was fortunate to study with Dr. Shinichi Suzuki in Matsumoto during the Summer of 1983. After studying at the University of Southern California with Professor Eleonore Schoenfeld, he then taught at Cal State Long Beach, as well as the Pasadena Conservatory of Music. After teaching for over a decade, he found opportunities to play recording sessions and has recorded and/or played with Elton John, Melissa Etheridge, Depeche Mode, Guns and Roses, Michael Jackson, Herbie Hancock, Quincy Jones, the Doobie Brothers, Jewel, Robert Downey, Jr., Cypress Hill, Avenged Sevenfold, Serj Tankian, Dru Hill, Betty Buckley, Idina Menzel, Adele, Selena Gomez, and played on numerous tv shows and movies. He resides with his wife in Pasadena, CA.
