BRANDON IVIE is a New York/Seattle-based film and theatre director and currently the Associate Artistic Director of Village Theatre spearheading their expansive new musicals program. He is known for the passionate theatricality, inventive stagecraft, and bold intimacy he brings to his work. His film projects include director/producer of the musical web series “The Hinterlands,” which has more than two million views on YouTube, and director/producer of the quarantine film adaptation of Justin Huertas’ Lizard Boy, of which he is also the stage director (world premiere, Seattle Rep). He has directed the world premieres of Jasper in Deadland by Ryan Scott Oliver and Hunter Foster, String by Adam Gwon and Sarah Hammond, The Noteworthy Life of Howard Barnes by Michael Kooman and Christopher Dimond, and The Yellow Wood by Michelle Elliott and Danny Larsen, and has developed the new musicals The Passage by David Darrow, ZM by Greg Kotis and Mark Hollmann, and Writing Kevin Taylor by Will Van Dyke and Josh Halloway, among others. Broadway credits include A Christmas Story, First Date, Next to Normal and Catch Me If You Can, as well as pre-Broadway runs of Gigi and Scandalous.
