See you then, On Wednesday, September 9, 2020, Elise@NMI.org Elise From: Filip Holacký Hi, I just got Jay’s response – we’re both free this Friday-Sunday. He says he can do anytime (he’s Chicago time zone), I’m happy to do 4PM-midnight (London Time). Would that suit you? Happy to come up with more options if needed. Best, On Tuesday, September 8, 2020, Filip Holacký Filip On Sat, Sep 5, 2020 at 9:34 PM Elise@NMI.org I think we should set up a Zoom meeting to chat about all this … what kind of timing might work for you and James in the next week or so? Elise From: Filip Holacký Hi Elise, yesterday, I spoke to James Moad about our possible collaboration in response to the email Scott Guy sent to us on Tuesday. We have spoken about our backgrounds, what fuels our writing, what we’d like to do for this project, and I think that we could really make this work! James has already been drafting first ideas about possible stories we might work on and while we haven’t settled on a single idea (we’ve discussed two or three of them – I can imagine all of them working in musical theatre setting but we’d definitely need to spend more time developing any of them), we are both very much interested in the idea of “how a person gets from one point to another”; the way a person can be transformed by unexpected experiences. During the conversation, we already had some creative sparks coming to us – this could be done this way, this idea could be dramatized using this technique, etc – and I found our conversation very fruitful and inspiring, making me want to already work on something. I can confidently say that this feeling is mutual. I don’t know if we’d need another person joining our team since I have experience as a lyricist in various projects, and we’re open to using prose for the lyrics where appropriate (I’ve read some of James’ texts and they’re so powerful and very musical), but I guess that’s something we don’t need to decide right now – your insight would be much appreciated. Please, let me know if there’s anything else you need from us at this point. Regards, |
