Following its out-of-town tryout in Chicago, TheCher Show opened on Broadway December 3, 2018. The musical, directed by Jason Moore with choreography by Christopher Gattelli, played 34 previews and 295 performances before closing August 18, 2019. The production earned three Tony Award nominations, winning Best Actress in a Musical for Stephanie J. Block’s performance as the “Star” Cher and Best Costume Design of a Musical for Bob Mackie’s work.
The Cher Show featured three performers as the title pop superstar, chronicling her life while incorporating 35 of her songs—from her career-launching 1965 duet with Sonny Bono, “I Got You Babe,” to her 2013 dance album Closer to The Truth.

In addition to Block, the production starred Teal Wicks as “Lady” Cher, Micaela Diamond as “Babe” Cher, Jarrod Spector as Sonny Bono, Michael Berresse as Bob Mackie/Rboert Altman/Frank, Michael Campayno as Rob Camilletti/Lee, Matthew Hydzik as Gregg Allman/John Southall, and Emily Skinner as Georgia Holt.
The cast also included Marija Juliette Abney, Carleigh Bettiol, Taurean Everett, Michael Fatica, Ashley Blair Fitzgerald, Michael Graceffa, Blaine Krauss, Sam Lips, Tiana Okoye, Jennifer Rias, Angel Reda, Christopher Vo, Aléna Watters, and Charlie Williams. Rounding out the company were Dee Roscioli as the standby for the Star and the Lady and Amy Quanbeck, Michael Tacconi, Tory Trowbridge, and Ryan Worsing as swings.

Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens is set to stream on World AIDS Day -today, December 1 5pm, featuring 51 performers and benefitting Broadway CaresEquity Fights AIDS. Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens honors the lives lost to AIDS through free-verse monologues with a blues, jazz and rock score.
Primary Stages will present a virtual reading of Charles Dickens‘ A Christmas Carol, as adapted by Theresa Rebeck and Erin Daley. The performance will stream live December 16 at 8 PM ET and be available through December 20.
Leading the cast as Scrooge is Tony nominee Raúl Esparza, who prior to the coronavirus shutdown had recently appeared in Rebeck’s play Seared Off-Broadway. His three co-stars from that production—Krysta Rodriguez, David Mason, and W. Tré Davis—are also among the cast.
Rounding out the company are Mary Bacon, Abadi Bacon Leynse, Kimberly Chatterjee, and Matthew Saldivar. Rebeck directs.

Combining his storytelling skills as an actor and his love for Broadway history, Tim created Broadway Up Close Walking Tours in 2010. Over the past decade, the company has established six different tour experiences. In 2019, he opened a freestanding gift shop in the middle of Times Square that offers custom Broadway merchandise.
On the small screen, Dolan was featured on Season 2 of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire. In theatre, Tim was the Dance Captain in the Off-Broadway revival of Once Upon A Mattress, starring Jackie Hoffman and John “Lypsinka” Epperson. He also performed as Abraham in the long-running hit musical Altar Boyz.
